These thoughts from the Chapter “Imago Dei and Developing Subcultures” are echoes from Emmanuel Levinas’ thoughts on murdering the “other.” In the polarizing debates of our world, our response to a radical other is one of the most important aspects of our character development that we should monitor and discipline. To discipline and to control these internal responses is to begin the work of peacemaking.
The night I created these videos, I must have had a careless pseudo-academic mindset going on. Hair all wacky like Einstein, and my shirt slowly becoming more and more disheveled through each new video as though I was imitating Žižek. What’s with that?!
